Dr Michael Stening

Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr Stening graduated from the University of Sydney in 1997 with an MBBS. Dr Stening then commenced surgical training at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital gaining entry to accredited Orthopaedic training with the Sydney Northside Scheme. He then completed Fellowships in hip and knee arthroplasty with Wei K Chung at Nepean Hospital then in the US at the Shriners Hospital Portland Oregan and the Texas Sottish Rites Hospital Dallas in Paediatric Orthopaedics.

Dr Stening has been in clinical practice since 1999 as the Visiting Medical Officer at the Hawkesbury Hospital Windsor and the Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick. He also operates at the Hospital for Specialist Surgery (HSS) and the Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

Dr Stening has a busy clinical practice specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty and has developed a particular interest in anterior minimally invasive hip replacement and patient specific knee replacement surgery. He is actively involved in the Orthopaedic training scheme and is currently supervisor at both the Sydney Children’s Hospital and Hawkesbury Hospital of SET trainees.
